Post Decree Problems

For over 30 years, Cincinnati attorney John L. Heilbrun has been representing people in southwest Ohio in matters involving all aspects of family and marital law. He has extensive experience practicing in the Domestic Relations Courts of Hamilton, Butler, Clermont and Warren counties in Ohio.

If there are minor children or an Order for spousal support, it is likely that the entry of a Decree of Divorce or Dissolution will not mean that there will be an end to all potential disputes between the former spouses arising out of their marriage.  Such future problems may include a desire of one or both spouses to change custody or parenting rights, to modify or terminate a Shared Parenting Plan, relocation issues, to modify child support and/or to modify or terminate spousal support.

In addition, Post-Decree proceedings may be necessary where one party fails to comply with his or her obligations as set forth under the terms of a Court Order.  In those cases, it may be necessary to invoke the continuing jurisdiction of the Court to enforce its own Orders.  These are usually referred to as “Contempt” proceedings.

John Heilbrun has the knowledge skill and experience to assist you in such matters, whether or not he represented you in the initial proceedings before the Court.
